I came to the Red Hen Cafe to take on their BIG MOMMA CHALLENGE. The BIG MOMMA is a huge 3 pound pancake. The challenge is if you can eat it all in less than 20 minutes, it's absolutely free. If you can't finish it, it's $15.99 plus tax. I was able to finish about 20% of it before giving up. Definitely not as easy as one would think, that's for sure however I was told that last week someone set a record eating it in less than 12 minutes. My friend ordered the Garden omelette, hash browns (extra crispy) and french toast. All their food looked really good especially the chicken fried steak that we had seen someone order next to us. This place has a very warm, welcoming atmosphere and our waitress Jenny was absolutely great. Definitely have plans to go back.

This place is a Hidden Gem, and I can see why. From the first bite I was doing my happy dance, I recommend anything on the menu. But the biscuits and gravy, pancakes, country breakfast, Paul Bunyan, waffles, are the most popular. Don’t even get me started on the service. The service is excellent from the moment you walk into this restaurant they greet you till you walk right out. The girls here are polite are on top of filling up your coffee to asking if you need any condiments to even simple conversation with you. This is my first time trying this restaurant and believe me when I say it will not be my last. Soon they will be greeting me like they do most of their customers by their first name.

My tuna sandwich was bland not enough mayo, personally I prefer miracle whip style mayo. Had I not got the sandwich with rye bread and red onions ,I think the sandwich would have gone back to the kitchen. My daughters breakfast burrito "looked" great but the eggs inside were scrambled and over fried and over done, grossed her out. I asked her if she wanted to exchange for something else and she said no,so I honored her feelings as I like to teach our kids to fend for themselves and not do things for them. My wife's veggie skillet scramble was very good according to her. As I looked around the restaurant the food looked pretty good especially the breakfast. Next time I will try just the breakfast,i would recommend if you order scrambled eggs ,ask that they not be over fried and overdone. It used to be mollies country cafe which I was banking on going today and was surprised to see it gone and replaced by the red hen. I will go back and give it a second try.the waitresses and cashiers were great and friendly. Out of 3 orders, 1 was good (my wife's veggie skillet scrambler), 2 were not good.

This place changed in recent months from Molly Brown's to Red Hen Cafe. So we came to try it out and it was pretty good. I decided to try a burger even though I was leaning towards breakfast. The burger was okay. It was fresh, thick and juicy. But I would give it a 7 out of 10. The service was amazing and the atmosphere very nice. It totally has a country feel to it and that's pretty cool. When I come back I'll be trying out some breakfast which I'm sure will not disappoint.
